A couple of months ago, I had the pleasure of being interviewed by Lou Blaser of the Second Breaks Podcast, a show about what it takes to make a career move in today’s economy.
In the episode, we chat about my journey from architect to photographer to business owner, and the role motherhood played in that journey.
So many women make the assumption that motherhood means putting their career on the back burner and “taking a hit” professionally - I made that assumption too, but that has not turned out to be the case for me, and I do not believe that has to be true in the long run.
Also, making a career shift may feel like “starting over” - it did for me, but again, what I see now in the longer term is that it’s all a build. We carry our experiences with us and build on them even as the context may shift.
