Lesson 6: What do you most want to remember about this time?

On day seven of the 7 day challenge, we talked about capturing what you most want to remember about this time, and how doing so can help you focus on all the good moments you have with your kids - the everyday ones, not just the special ones.

When you capture what you most want to remember about this time, you’ll find a purpose to photographing your kids that will give you the forward momentum you need to more fully integrate photography into your life as a parent.

Not only that, but what you focus on will grow. Not only will you find that you already have more moments worth capturing than you might have otherwise realized, but you will also naturally create more of those moments.

What I want to remember most about this time: the amazing summer we had where the boys got to try out so many new things at summer camp. Robot camp was one of their favorites.

Put this into action:

Write a list of at least five things you most want to remember about this time (if you have more than one child, you can write five things for each child if you like).

Now, from that list, narrow it down to three things.

Write them down somewhere (digitally or physically) so that you can refer back to them.

Up next: What to look for to get the best photos

Note: I'll be giving you daily photo prompts to help you in your photo-a-day project but they are completely optional. Ultimately you should choose the photo for your project that best reflects what you most want to remember about the day.
